DEVELOPMENT OF 2ND-GENERATION DIGITAL CAM ERA SYSTEM

Second generation digital camera system has been developed for camcode r. It contains new camera DSP IC and special function system. Camera s ignal process and digital auto-function are performed with this single camera DSP which is an ASIC comprising logic circuit about 110,000 ga tes. Special features are electrical zoom function, motion compensatio n function and digital noise reduction function. Special function IC h as been developed for this system. It is ASIC comprising about 50,000 gates. This paper describes the outline of the newly developed digital camera system and each ASIC. Development methodology of camera DSP IC is also described.
