We have studied the kinetic phase transition of a three-state-vector P
otts system on a triangular lattice in contact with a heat bath and su
bject to an external energy source. The system evolves via the stochas
tic dynamics composed of Glauber and Kawasaki dynamics simulating inte
raction with the heat bath and energy source, respectively. The pair a
pproximation is used. It is found that there is a paramagnetic-ferroma
gnetic transition at small energy flow, and the transition line is obt
ained. Also, when the energy is large enough, the system always will b
e in the paramagnetic state.
