Abstract
In a recent paper Misra and Felsteiner calculate the low-temperature o rdered states of certain RBa2Cu3O7-delta compounds, using the Luttinge r-Tisza method. Based on the results of these calculations the authors conclude that dipolar interactions alone can account for all the obse rved orderings of these materials. However, the calculations and the c onclusions drawn from these calculations are based on assumptions that we believe are inconsistent with many crystal electric field measurem ents in the RBa2Cu3O7-delta compounds.
