Abstract
Simulations of induction motors for power system studies are often ham pered by unavailable and/or inaccurate parameter data. A method for th e in situ measurement of the parameters of a machine and load combinat ion is given. This uses an output error estimation technique combined with supply voltage perturbations. The technique yields optimum parame ter values with minimum disruption to the machine's normal operation. Verifying tests were conducted on individual motors as well as for a g roup of machines. The results indicate good correlation between estima ted values and values obtained from conventional tests.
