INTRAMUSCULAR MALIGNANT GRANULAR-CELL TUMOR

We describe a malignant granular cell tumor in the semimembranosus mus cle of a 61-year-old woman. Magnetic resonance images disclosed a tumo r with intermediate and low signal intensity on both T1- and T2-weight ed images, measuring about 7x4x4 cm in size. The patient showed an une ventful clinical course during a 30-month follow-up period after the w ide excision. The pertinent findings in making the diagnosis of malign ant granular cell tumor are large size, intramuscular location, and mi tosis including an atypical mitosis.
