Abstract
This paper describes an instrument developed for the semi-continuous m easurement of aerosol mass and its categorization into three classes. These classes have been chosen to evaluate the health hazards of the i nhalable particles. The instrument performs sampling through three pro bes, each providing different cut-points (approximately 15, approximat ely 4 and approximately 2 mum) and collecting airborne particles on ci rcular membrane filters. The increase in weight is measured with the b eta-rays attenuation method.
