Abstract
Grazing incidence X-ray reflection has been used to determine the stru cture of 1-octadecyl-4-styryl pyridinium bromide Langmuir monolayers s pread on water. The structure of the monolayer spread on water is comp ared with its structure when deposited on a solid substrate as a Langm uir-Blodgett multilayer.
