Abstract
Conflicting calibrations of the absolute photoionization cross section s of atomic oxygen in the vacuum and extreme ultraviolet are tested by a sum-rule analysis. It is shown that the scaling factor obtained by Samson and Pareek results in much closer adherence to three sum rules.
