Abstract
A survey of compact (theta < 1'') radio sources exhibiting interplanet ary scintillation has been conducted at 102 MHz on the Large Phased Ar ray of the Lebedev Institute of Physics. The survey covers the first a rea of the 7C survey, with area 0.047 ster in direction alpha = 6(h)28 (m) and delta = 45.degrees 126 scintillating sources with flux density >0.15 Jy have been detected. To flux density S = 0.7 Jy, the differen tial count of scintillating sources differs only little from that expe cted for a Euclidean Universe, but a very sharp drop in the count curv e is observed for weak flux densities (S < 0.7 Jy). This drop is signi ficantly steeper than that for the 7C survey radio source count, sugge sting that the cosmological evolution of compact and extended radio so urces is different.
