Abstract
The 1-methylcytosinium cations (4-amino-2-oxo-1,2-dihydro-3H+-pyrimidi nium) are protonated at N3. The tetrachlorocobaltate anion has distort ed tetrahedral geometry with average Co-Cl bonds of 2.27 (1) angstrom and Cl-Co-Cl angles in the range 104.7-117.6-degrees.
