Abstract
Several new clamps have been developed to facilitate laparoscopic bowe l surgery. This paper discusses the histologic extent of tissue injury in porcine bowel caused by both these clamps and open clamps. The lap aroscopic atraumatic bowel clamps compared favourably with open atraum atic bowel clamps in terms of microscopic injury of the bowel.
