P. Reissman et al., LAPAROSCOPIC ADHESIOLYSIS - A TREATMENT FOR RECURRENT INTESTINAL-OBSTRUCTION DUE TO ADHESIONS, Minimally invasive therapy, 3(2), 1994, pp. 103-104
Intestinal adhesions due to previous abdominal surgery were, until rec
ently, considered a contra-indication for laparoscopic surgery. With t
he latest advances and cumulated experience, this is no longer true. I
n fact, such adhesions, which may frequently cause recurrent intestina
l obstruction, may be an indication for laparoscopic adhesiolysis. We
report a case of recurrent intestinal obstruction following abdominal
surgery successfully treated by laparoscopic adhesiolysis.
