Abstract
Depolarization-evoked H-3-norepinephrine release from SK-N-SH cells wa s found to be regulated by opioid ligands. Opioids excerted either inh ibition or augmentation of H-3-norepinephrine release. Both effects we re mediated by opioid receptors. In addition, a nonopioid inhibitory e ffect of opiates on release was observed. The SK-N-SH cell-line provid es a suitable model for studying the various mechanisms underlying the opioid regulatory pathways within single cells.
