Abstract
Arene displacement from the title complex OCCURS under unprecedented M ild conditions in neutral media to afford (eta6-arene)tricarbonylchrom ium complexes. The process is most effective with heteroaromatic compo unds: the first synthesis of a tricarbonyl(eta6-quinoline) chromium co mplex and the diastereoselective preparation of a (eta6-indole) comple x derived from L-tryptophan are reported as representative examples.
