A study has been made of the liquid-phase hydrogenation of benzene to
cyclohexane in the presence of finely dispersed catalysts based on pla
tinum-group metals: Pt, Pd, Rh/Ru. The indices of the process were ass
essed as a function of the nature of the metal, its quantity and the t
emperature of reduction of the catalytic system. Carrying out the reac
tion at moderate temperatures (90-100 degrees C) and a pressure of 1 .
0 MPa showed the effectiveness of using finely dispersed catalysts in
the production of cyclohexane. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Lt
