This study of older visually impaired Nebraskans examined the effects
of participation in peer support groups for visually impaired people a
nd rehabilitation training. It found that those who participated in su
pport groups and rehabilitation felt they were successful in coping wi
th their visual loss, were satisfied with their level of activities, a
nd generally had a positive outlook on life.
