MONEY AND MARKETS

In a search model of endogenous money it is shown that the introductio n of markets increases the efficiency of the economy. Markets help the agents to coordinate their actions. The organization of the economy i n markets becomes feasible only with the introduction of money. Unlike in a marketless economy the commodity holder's decision to actively m ove and search or to wait for a buyer becomes irrelevant.
