L. Halme et al., LATE BILIARY STENOSIS AFTER CONSERVATIVE MANAGEMENT OF TRAUMATIC LIVER RUPTURE - CASE-REPORT, The journal of trauma, injury, infection, and critical care, 36(5), 1994, pp. 740-742
An extensive liver rupture developed in a 50-year-old woman after she
received severe blunt injuries in a criminal assault. Nonsurgical mana
gement of the liver injury led to recovery of the patient despite a se
rious blood loss and multiorgan failure. However, 3 months after the i
njury a complete left bile duct stenosis with liver dysfunction and tw
o hepatic artery pseudoaneurysms were found. Biliodigestive bypass res
tored normal liver function.
