We report the first combination of far-infrared linear and nonlinear (
saturation) magnetoabsorption experiments on coupled subband Landau le
vel excitations in a series of modulation-doped multiple coupled doubl
e quantum well (MCDQW) structures. Linear spectroscopy was carried out
with a Fourier transform spectrometer over a range of temperature, an
d saturation spectroscopy was carried out with the free electron laser
at UC Santa Barbara. Based on theoretical analysis, an electron lifet
ime of approximately 1.2 ns was obtained.
