Abstract
A sharp spectral line has been observed in gamma-ray irradiated para-H -2 crystals and assigned to the pure vibrational Q(1)(0)(upsilon=1<--0 , J=0<--0) transition induced via the Condon effect by charges distrib uted in the crystal. The remarkable sharpness and stability of the sig nal is reported and discussed.
