The effect of turbulent mixing on the height of the rise of a Large-sc
ale thermal is investigated. The gas motion is described on the basis
of averaged Reynolds equations that are closed by means of the k-epsil
on-model. The influence of preassignment of the initial data for k and
epsilon is examined. Comparison is made with experimental results, as
well as with the results of calculations with constant transport fact
ors and of calculations using the algebraic turbulence model.
