Sv. Stepanov, THE PARAMETERS OF RADIATIVE-CONDUCTIVE HEAT-TRANSFER UNDER CONDITIONSOF HIGH THERMAL-CONDUCTIVITY - THE EFFECT OF SCATTERING AND BOUNDARY-CONDITIONS, High temperature, 32(2), 1994, pp. 260-266
The effect of the boundary conditions and radiation scattering on the
radiation-conduction parameters is investigated. A generalized radiati
on-conduction parameter is proposed, which serves as the criterion of
the conditions of high thermal conductivity in both nonscattering and
scattering media with the optical thickness indefinitely varying in th
e spectral range and with arbitrary (including semitransparent radiati
on-absorbing) boundaries. Special conditions of radiative-conductive h
eat transfer have been revealed, under which the radiation effect is o
f the second order of smallness (rather than of the first, as is usual
ly the case) with asymptotic expansion in the small radiation-conducti
on parameter.
