B. Fabre et al., MEASUREMENT OF THE NUCLEAR BREMSSTRAHLUNG CROSS-SECTION FROM THE C-12(P,P) C-12 REACTION NEAR THE 1.734 MEV RESONANCE, Nuclear physics. A, 572(2), 1994, pp. 349-364
The C-12 + p bremsstrahlung spectra for protons scattered at theta(p)
= 162-degrees have been measured at incident proton energies of 1.80 a
nd 1.83 MeV. The photon energy range measured was 20 keV < E(y) < 400
keV. According to the predictions of Feshbach and Yennie, structure in
the bremsstrahlung cross section is expected at approximately 55 and
approximately 85 keV, respectively. This structure has been observed a
nd our measurements agree well with the Feshbach-Yennie calculations f
or the bremsstrahlung spectrum. Other soft-photon approximations (SPA)
predict additional structure above 200 keV which has not been observe
d in this measurement.
