We describe a computer simulation of the Ising model in 3-D systems an
d we have studied the magnetic phase transition: the variation of magn
etization with temperature, and the behaviour of the thermodynamic fun
ctions of specific heat, free energy and entropy. A magnetic field can
be applied, leading to studies of hysteresis and domain behaviour. Th
e model uses a 21 X 21 X 21 cubic lattice with ferromagnetic or antife
rromagnetic Ising coupling between nearest-neighbour sites.
