Abstract
The dc and ac magnetic properties of a newly developed high-purity gra in-oriented iron sheet were investigated. This new material has a maxi mum permeability of 0.04 H/m, which is higher than that of conventiona l high-purity iron. The material also has a higher magnetic induction and a smaller exciting power than silicon steel above the dc magnetizi ng force of 60 A/m and ac (50-60 Hz) magnetizing induction of 1.9 T, r espectively. This means that this new material is suitable not only fo r dc use, but also for commercial ac exciting use, especially under hi gh exciting induction.
