Changes in the magnetization vector due to tensile stress under a cons
tant magnetic field for grain-oriented silicon-iron sheet strip sample
s cut at various angles from the rolling direction have been investiga
ted. In a low magnetic field, where the magnetization is less than 1.5
T, the magnetization vector lies in the direction of the sample lengt
h and the magnetization decreases with the application of tension. Bey
ond that magnetic field, the magnetization vector showed a two-dimensi
onal hysteresis loop due to the application of tension. The maximum tr
ansverse magnetization change appeared in a 10-degrees sample, where t
he rotation angle of the magnetization vector was 2.5-degrees.
