M. Fujikura et al., HIGH SATURATION MAGNETIC INDUCTION AMORPHOUS FE-SI-B ALLOYS WITH IMPROVED THERMAL-STABILITY BY ADDITION OF TIN, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 133(1-3), 1994, pp. 273-275
The effect of the addition of tin is studied in order to improve the m
agnetic properties of amorphous Fe-Si-B alloys. The results indicate t
hat the addition of tin (0.1-0.5 wt%) greatly reduces the core losses
of high iron content alloys and consequently both high B(s) and low co
re losses can be achieved. The improvement in the core losses is attri
buted to the suppression of the surface crystallization of the ribbon.
The same effect is reported for alloys containing aluminum.
