Vrv. Ramanan et al., THE INFLUENCE OF MICROSTRUCTURE ON POWER LOSSES IN FE-B-SI METALLIC GLASSES, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 133(1-3), 1994, pp. 362-365
Power loss data in commercial composition Fe-based metallic glasses ar
e presented and analyzed by means of a statistical theory, in order to
determine the effect of thermal and thinning treatments on the 'micro
structure' conditions of the material. The data show how a large impro
vement in the loss behavior can be obtained by relieving and removing
microstructural inhomogeneities. A full comparative analysis is perfor
med on different cases, allowing the effects of thermal and thinning t
reatments to be tracked step by step on the separate loss components.
