We study normalization problems associated with the use of perturbativ
ely correlated ground states in extended random phase approximation sc
hemes in the context of a specific but typical example. The sensitivit
y of the results to the amount of two-particle-two-hole admixtures to
the correlated ground state is also investigated in terms of a modific
ation of the standard perturbative approach.
