Abstract
Itraconazole antifungal activity is investigated by agar diffusion tes ts. In this study we have investigated the influence of sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate, an anionic surfactant, in Sabouraud dextrose agar at different culture conditions on the itraconazole activity against Cand ida albicans. The results demonstrated that it is possible to obtain c leared and increased zones of inhibition and a good dosage/zone of inh ibition correlation also in complex medium such as Sabouraud dextrose.
