Abstract
The population of the Dogon, located in Mall, is divided in an endogam ic Noble class and two endogamic servant castes (Tanners and Blacksmit hs). We find that the polymorphic frequencies of beta(c), beta(S), and , unexpectedly, a mutation of the delta-chain (delta(A')), are geograp hically (valley vs. plateau) as well as social status dependent.
