In this paper the optical properties of E-BN, a high pressure form of
boron nitride, have been investigated. E-BN layers of thickness 1 mum
were deposited onto CaF2 and Al2O3 single-crystal plates by plasma-ass
isted chemical vapour deposition crystallization using the pulse plasm
a method. The measured optical properties and calculated value of E(g)
confirm that E-BN is a specific form of BN, differing from c-BN and h
-BN.
