F. Bourdon et al., HEMORRHAGIC-FEVER WITH RENAL SYNDROME AND TAMM-HORSFALL PROTEIN - REPORT ON 20 CASES, La Revue de medecine interne, 14(6), 1993, pp. 396-396
This report describes 20 pts with acute renal failure due to hemorrhag
ic fever with renal syndrome. Medullary hemorrhages, tubular edema wit
h interstitial infiltrates are possibly involved in the urinary reflux
of Tamm-Horsfall protein back to the glomerulus, as TH was detected b
y monoclonal Ab in the Bowman's space. This finding is in favor of an
obstructive mechanism in the genesis of ARF. Complete recovery of rena
l function was noticed in every pt.
