Abstract
The use of BHK21-adapted mesogenic 'Komarov' strain of Newcastle disea se virus for primary vaccination of chicks was studied. The efficacy o f the vaccine was assessed by haemagglutination-inhibiting antibody ti tres and challenge experiments. The BHK21-adapted virus was safe and p otent for priming the chicks by oculonasal route. Further studies are in progress.
