The study was carried out in 12 villages of Bareilly district in Uttar
Pradesh. Personal interview schedule was administered on randomly sel
ected dairy owning 192 rural women. Data were collected on 14 independ
ent variables, in relation to 3 parameters, to study overall employmen
t status of rural women in dairying. Correlation analysis revealed tha
t caste, adoption behaviour, input availability risk orientation, mana
gement orientation and attitude towards dairy farming were negatively
and significantly correlated, whereas attitude towards employment and
productivity of dairy animals were positively and significantly correl
ated with overall employment status of rural women.
