Samples of water-soluble aromatic sulfonated polyamide based on isopht
halic acid are studied by methods of molecular hydrodynamics. The intr
insic viscosity, sedimentation coefficient, and forward isothermal dif
fusion in 0.1 M NaCl are determined for the interval of molecular weig
hts 10 < M x 10(-3) < 145. Relations are found between the hydrodynami
c characteristics and molecular weight. The equilibrium rigidity of th
e molecular chain of the polymer is estimated.
