Trimethylsilyl glycidol derivatives 1 were oxidized with pyridine N-ox
ides in the presence of silylating agents to give the corresponding gl
yceraldehyde derivatives 3. Reaction of (alpha,beta-epoxyallcyl)silane
s with N-oxides was studied.
