Md. Gayeseye et Jj. Aaron, ANALYSIS OF MIXTURES OF PURINES AND PYRIMIDINES BY SYNCHRONOUS ROOM-TEMPERATURE PHOSPHORESCENCE SPECTROSCOPY, Analytica chimica acta, 290(1-2), 1994, pp. 166-171
Synchronous room-temperature phosphorescence (SRTP) spectra of synthet
ic binary mixtures of purines and pyrimidines have been determined on
Whatman No. 40 filter paper in the presence of heavy ions (I- or Tl+).
The SRTP spectra were characterized by well-resolved peaks that could
be used for identification of individual compounds. SRTP gave satisfa
ctory results for the analysis of pharmaceutical formulations. No sign
ificant interference of the excipient or of an added phosphorescent fo
reign species was found. The mean recoveries ranged from 80 to 106%.
