Abstract
A new species of Discinites, D. dentilongus, is described from the Low er Shihhotse Formation, Lower Permian, of Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, Ch ina. It has circular, bowl-shaped sporophylls with long teeth and decu rrent bases. The genus is redefined and a new family, Discinitaceae, p roposed.
