Co-metathesis reaction of methyl linoleate with ethene over WCl6 as ca
talyst in chlorobenzene at 30-degrees-C gave mainly methyl-9-decenoate
and 1-heptene. The co-metathesis conversion at various ethene pressur
es remained high. Increasing- the ethene pressure led to the formation
of more co-metathesis products in contrast with the self-metathesis o
f methyl linoleate itself.
