Vg. Badalyan et al., AVGUR 2.1 COMPUTERIZED ULTRASONIC INSPECTION SYSTEM WITH COHERENT DATA-PROCESSING, Russian journal of nondestructive testing, 29(7), 1993, pp. 485-495
The Avgur 2.1 computerized ultrasonic inspection system with coherent
data processing is designed for the arbitration hazard assessment of d
efects. Coherent processing offers fundamentally new ultrasonic inspec
tion capabilities. It can be used to obtain high-resolution defect ima
ges, to determine their characteristics and coordinates, and to make w
ell-substantiated judgments of the type of defect (planar or volume).
The results of testing of the Avgur 2.1 system in the reconstruction o
f images of both synthetic and real defects are reported. The authors
have endeavored to present the material in a form accessible to a broa
d range of specialists.
