Eg. Bazulin et Ds. Tikhonov, USE OF BOTTOM ECHO PULSES FOR AMPLIFICATION OF THE IMAGE OF DEFECTS RECONSTRUCTED FROM DIGITAL ACOUSTIC HOLOGRAMS, Russian journal of nondestructive testing, 29(7), 1993, pp. 496-501
Features of use of the method of projection in a spectral space for re
construction of images of defects in specimens with plane-parallel sur
faces from digital multifrequency acoustic holograms are considered. I
n this case use of the method of projection in a spectral space assume
s recording of the echo pulses having passed after dispersion on defec
ts to the recording surface both directly and after reflection from th
e bottom (''post bottom'' pulses). Additional information on the form
of defects contained in ''post bottom'' echo pulses makes impossible t
o more accurately determine the character of a defect and thereby, to
increase inspection reliability. The results of experiments with model
s of defects are given.
