The compounds hexaamminecobalt(III) chloride and tris(2,4-pentanediono
)cobalt(III) have been prepared. The compounds have octahedral structu
res. The initial decomposition temperature of the compounds has been o
btained by thermogravimetry. The performance of the compounds as colou
ring materials for poly(vinyl chloride) and polystyrene has been inves
tigated and is reported in this paper.
