Nm. Agababyan et al., ANGULAR-DEPENDENCE OF FACTORIAL MOMENTS IN PI+ K+P INTERACTIONS AT 250 GEV C/, Physics letters. Section B, 328(1-2), 1994, pp. 199-206
A sample of pi+p and K+p non-diffractive interactions at square-root s
= 22 GeV is used to investigate factorial multiplicity moments as a f
unction of the CMS opening angle theta between particles. The angular
dependence is very different for unlike-charge and like-charge particl
e combinations. For the latter, factorial moments increase with decrea
sing opening angle approximately as a power law. The theta dependence
is stronger for central production-angle intervals than in the forward
and backward regions. The predictions of the standard version of the
FRITIOF model deviate strongly from the data, but including Bose-Einst
ein correlations leads to qualitative agreement.
