Abstract
The branching ratios of the tau- --> h- pi0nu(tau) and tau- --> h- gre ater-than-or-equal-to 2pi0nu(tau) decays (where h- is either a pi- or K-) are measured using the OPAL detector at LEP. The two branching rat ios are simultaneously measured using separate selection criteria and are found to be B(h-pi0) = (26.25 +/- 0.36 +/- 0.52) %, B(h- greater-t han-or-equal-to 2pi0) = (9.89 +/- 0.34 +/- 0.55)%, B(h- pi0) + B(h- gr eater-than-or-equal-to 2pi0) = (36.14 +/- 0.33 +/-0.58) %, where the f irst error is statistical and the second is systematic.
