A study of the acid-base properties and the complex-forming properties
with cobalt (II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II), and cadmium(II) i
ons of the carbohydrate alpha-amino acid 2-benzylamino-2-deoxy-D-glyce
ro-D-talo-heptonic acid has been carried out. In order to perform this
study, ionization constant of the ligand and stability constants of t
he complexes are determined from e.m.f. data at 298 K and ionic streng
th I = 0.1 M in aqueous solution.
