The oxidation of an entwined copper complex bearing four pyrrole rings
(CuL2+, (pyrrol-3-yl)hexyloxy-phenyl]-1,10-phenanthroline) has been s
tudied in acetonitrile by fast scan-rate voltammetry on millimetric el
ectrodes and ultramicroelectrodes. The observed lifetime of the pyrrol
e radical cation was found to be even shorter than in the case of unsu
bstituted pyrrole. Cyclic voltammetry of CuL2+ polymer film was also e
xamined on an ultramicroelectrode at high scan rates (200-3000 V s-1).
