L. Wu et al., FRACTURE ENERGY OF LIME SAND CONCRETE AND APPLICATION OF THE ACOUSTIC-EMISSION TECHNIQUE, Magazine of Concrete Research, 46(166), 1994, pp. 17-21
The linear localization technique known as the acoustic emission techn
ique was applied to the investigation of crack initiation and propagat
ion in lime-sand concrete. The results showed that all parts of the te
sted lime and concrete specimens were damaged to some extent during th
e fracture process. The fracture energy and specific fracture energy w
ere measured by use of the Instron 1346 materials testing machine. On
the basis of the experimental results, the influence of autoclaving sc
hedules, calcium-silicate ratio and water-solid ratio on fracture ener
gy and specific fracture energy of this concrete was researched.
