Vv. Batrakov et al., REGULARITIES OF ADSORPTION OF IONS AND SURFACTANTS ON METAL CORROSIONPRODUCTS AND SALT DEPOSITS, Protection of metals, 30(1), 1994, pp. 76-82
The adsorption of ions at the oxide-solution interface is described us
ing assumptions about the existence of acid-base equilibria and propos
itions of the Graham-Parsons theory on the double electric-layer struc
ture. The adsorption data are shown to be in good agreement with the t
heoretical predictions. The data on the effect of the solution pH on t
he adsorption of a number of organic surfactants at the oxide-solution
interface are discussed. The data on the adsorption of surfactants on
salts (silver iodide and calcium carbonate) are discussed with specia
l reference to the structure of the double electric layer.
