L. Chalabi et al., WHAT TO DO WHEN THE SUPERFICIAL VEIN NETW ORK IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE CREATION OF AN ARTERIOVENOUS-FISTULA, Nephrologie, 15(2), 1994, pp. 153-155
When the utilization of a simple arteroveinous fistula is out of the q
uestion, or no longer praticable, several alternative solutions have b
een advocated. Our own experience of sugery rests on 3000 vascular ope
rations on dialysis patients since 1968. The solutions we have come to
favour are saphenous vein homografts or heterografts with PTFE. The r
espective results seem to us equivalent so that either option can be h
old justified.
